SUMMERDESIGNTRENDS Summer is finally upon us and it’s time to have a little fun indoors. Summer design and decor should reflect the relaxed mood of the holidays and BBQs we’ll all be frequenting this season. For example, the trend of adding nude- coloured furniture to a home is as simple and minimalistic as light white furniture,

but less of a classic standard and thus fresh. The ombre trend that has taken over everything from clothing, to hair, to eyebrows is also a perfect fit for the summer months as the effect of one colour fading into another harkens to the varied shades of water, sand

and greenery. Woven materials add a lovely aspect of texture to a space and feel natural and casual. Lastly, nautical touches such as circular mirrors, blue and white stripes and faded

wooden boards will have you counting the days until you’re back at the lake.
