DECORATELIKEAPRO Overwhelmed by the idea of completely redecorating a room? According to the pros, following a step-by- step process can turn a big job into an enjoyable one while also helping to create a cohesive space. The best place to start is with a project budget. Decide how much you want to spend and what you want to spend it on such as paint, flooring, furniture and so on. Then choose a style or mix a couple together. Do you like farmhouse? Industrial?
How about farmhouse industrial? Other styles to consider are traditional, bohemian, modern and minimalistic to name a few. Once you’ve determined the look you’d like to achieve, select paint colours and large items such as couches, tables or beds. If you already own furniture in good condition, see if you can
reposition or reupholster before buying new. The last step – and the most fun – is accessorizing. Accessories are what add true personality to a space. Artwork, vases, rugs, throw pillows –
surround yourself with items you love and you’ll create a winning space every time.

WHAT’SONYOURPLATE? According to nutritionists, a healthy plate of food should include: ONE: Half the plate must be filled with vegetables. Size-wise, the vegetables should fill both hands of the person who is going to eat them. TWO: Your plate should have a fist-sized portion of starch. This would break down to a cup of cooked starch such as brown rice or potatoes or two slices of multi-grain bread. THREE: You should include a portion of healthy fats about the size of the tip of your thumb. Healthy fats can come from avocado, nuts, olives, seeds or coconut oil for example. FOUR: Your plate must have a palm-sized portion of protein such as lean poultry, red meat, beans, eggs or tofu. Processed meats such as baloney or salami are not recommended as they are not considered healthy sources of protein.
THEBESTHOMEDESIGNTRICKS When it comes to home design – everyone loves a good trick. Here are five things to do today that will update your space. 1. Cover popcorn ceilings or textured walls with fabric. 2. Mix paint finishes within the same room, i.e.: matte walls with a high gloss ceiling. 3. Use a chair as a nightstand. 4. Store toys in sophisticated bins and baskets instead of a toy box. 5. Float furniture – such as a desk – off the wall to free up space.
TIPSFORSTARTINGOUT INREALESTATE INVESTMENT If real estate investment is something you’re considering getting into, here are four tips to help get you started. Set goals and expectations. A fewquestions you could ask yourself – What do you want to get out of your investment? How far in the future are you planning for? How much time do you want to dedicate to maintaining your investment? Choose a neighbourhood. While investors often think they should live near their properties so they can easily tend to their tenants’ needs, don’t let this limit your search parameters. The best property for you might be a bit further away than just around the corner. And if it’s too far to drive to for maintenance issues, consider including the cost of a property manager in your initial investment budget. Shop around. There are many factors to consider. It’s best to lay down your criteria ahead of time, view a variety of properties and then narrow them down to the one that is closest to meeting your conditions. Use an experienced agent. Property taxes, insurance, appraisals, inspections – there’s a lot to deal with when purchasing your property. This experience will guide you through every step, helping you feel confident in your investment and ready to handle what’s to come.
Three friends from different villages in Austria are members of the same Oompah band. Can you work out the age of each man (39, 40, 42), his occupation (one is a farmer), the instrument he plays and the name of his village (one is Obersdorf)? 1. Boris (who isn't the hotel keeper) is older than the tuba player (who isn't from the village of Alpensee). 2. The man who plays the flugelhorn isn't the oldest band member. 3. The man aged 40 is from a village with the same initial letter as the village the accordion player comes from. 4. The policeman is younger than Wilhelm. 5. The man from Ottenbach is either the youngest or the oldest and may or may not be Walter. NAME AGE OCCUPATION INSTRUMENT VILLAGE
