WAYS TO DECORATE FOR FALL Ah, fall. That magical time between the sweltering days of summer and the bitter cold of winter, and when the changing leaves display one of the most inspiring colour combinations in nature. Decorating your home with deep reds, dark oranges and golden yellows is one way to bring fall indoors. Aside from fall’s dazzling colours, it also provides several natural items you can incorporate into your home without paying a cent. Pumpkins can be painted and displayed or hollowed out and used as a vase for a dried arrangement. Combine rustic looking vintage items such as old pitchers with dried wheat or twigs. Use old barnwood to frame a piece of chalkboard and handwrite an autumnal saying on it, such as “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” And don’t forget about layering your home with quilts and blankets. Try adding one to a rocking chair on your front porch for the ultimate in fall coziness.
