Edmonton, AB, April 2026 — The Greater Edmonton Area (GEA) real estate market reported 2,133 sales in March 2026. There were 3,809 new listings. Average selling price across all residential property types increased by 3.4% from the previous month to $470,819, a price 2.2% higher than March 2025. The MLS ® Home Price Index (HPI) composite benchmark price in the GEA was $426,000, increasing 1.5% from February 2026 and decreasing 2.9% year-over-year. “It’s no surprise that month-to-month trends are showing an increase in activity, but certain key stats are giving us an indication of the kind of market we’re going to see this year. Compared to last year, there’s more available inventory and fewer sales; sellers looking for a quick sale may have to price strategically to get their property to stand out.” – Darlene Reid, 2026 Board Chair, REALTORS ® Association of Edmonton Statistics reflect market activity in March 2026 | Source: REALTORS ® Association of Edmonton | Market values stated are of the average of Edmonton and surrounding region. Individual home market values will vary and are affected by factors such as location, size, interior and exterior condition. Please call to get an up-to-date evaluation of your home. FROM KITCHEN TO LIVING ROOM: PLANTS THAT THRIVE INSIDE Keeping living plants indoors is a wonderful way to showcase a house with greenery and bring life to it. Indoor gardening lets people grow herbs, greens, and even small vegetables year round, even in limited spaces like apartments or small kitchens. With the right light, containers, and soil, many leafy greens and herbs can thrive near a sunny window or under supplemental grow lights. Some of the easiest indoor plants to care for are those that tolerate a wide range of conditions and don’t require frequent watering. The snake plant, Aloe vera, pothos plants, succulents, and cacti, as well as Herbs like basil, thyme, or parsley, and low light greens such as lettuce or spinach. Indoor gardens also improve air quality and bring a bit of nature inside, which can be especially welcome in colder Canadian climates where outdoor growing seasons are short.

Spring is an ideal time for flower gardens, growth, and the bugs that come with it. They’re wonderful in our gardens, but maybe not during a house showing. Spring sees increased activity of many insects and rodents, attracted by warming temperatures, moisture, and available food sources. Common spring pests include ants, spiders, mosquitoes, and occasionally mice or larger critters seeking entry into homes. These pests often take advantage of small cracks, torn screens, or unnoticed leaks, meaning problems that start quietly in early spring can become bigger by summer if not addressed. You can keep pests out by repairing or

installing tight-fitting screens. Sealing cracks with caulk, storing food in airtight containers, and fixing any leaks also help keep ants and spiders away without using harsh chemicals. Discreet traps, such as fruit fly traps shaped like apples or hidden ant traps, work well without being noticeable. DIY pest control with sprays and traps can help handle small problems like mosquitoes, spiders, or flies. If you spot early signs of an infestation, consider calling a professional for an inspection or perimeter treatment, especially for termites or stubborn ants, to stop problems before they affect your home’s structure or cleanliness.

DON’T LET COMMON PESTS MOVE IN THIS SPRING
