your interior whether you’re planning on selling or just want an update. During the warmer months, you can throw open the windows, spend a few hours rolling, then head outside for some fresh air. But what

colours should you choose? Here are a few of the most popular options from well-known paint brand Benjamin Moore. If needed, you can also take their samples to any other paint store and have them matched! • Chantilly Lace. Benjamin Moore’s whitest white, it ’s clean, crisp and pure. • Swiss Coffee. A soft white with a yellow undertone and a hint of green. • Boothbay Gray. A dark, cool gray with quite a bit of a blue undertone. • Manchester Tan. Has a passive yellow undertone with just a wink of green. • Hawthorne Yellow. A bold, yet balanced yellow from Benjamin Moore’s Historical Collection. • Hale Navy. A saturated, rich navy blue that looks just as beautiful on cabinetry as it does on the wall.

FOUR PACKING TIPS FOR PLANNING A MOVE Planning a move? Feeling overwhelmed? That ’s pretty much to be expected! But moving doesn’t have to be super stressful. Just follow these four tips to make the process go smoothly. 1. Take inventory of all your belongings. You don’t have to make a physical list of everything you own, but it ’s important to take note mentally. Moving is the best time to purge – consider donating items you don’t use, love or need. 2. Make sure you have everything you need before you start packing. This includes blankets to protect furniture, stackable waterproof bins for smaller items and blank labels to keep track of what ’s in each box. 3. Pack each room according to its specific needs . Your kitchen and garage are the bigger jobs and it ’s best to tackle them early on. Make sure not to pack anything that won’t have a place in your new home.

4. Be methodical when it’s time to unpack. Resist the urge to just open the first box you see and go at it. First, put each box into the room it belongs. Next, unpack anything perishable followed by the things you need for daily life. Once all of the important tasks are done, allow yourself to rest and give yourself a pat on the back – you did it!

A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE: HOW TO ACHIEVE A CLEAN AND CALM BEDROOM AESTHETIC The first thing any real estate agent will say you should do before listing your home is to declutter. But decluttering can be so much more than just “getting rid of junk.” A home with a clean aesthetic is relaxing, inviting and showcases all the things that make it great. So here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get the look – starting with your bedroom!

• Step 1: Go white. Sure, painting your walls white and going with white bedding can seem impractical. But here’s the trick – white doesn’t mean pure white. In fact, off-white still looks bright and airy, but it is much easier to keep clean and hides little imperfections. • Step 2: Find furniture that has clean lines. Overly ornate furniture makes a space feel old-fashioned instead of fresh and modern. Furniture in a clean and calm bedroom should be light – both in colour and in weight. • Step 3: Don’t skimp on the bedding. If you want your bedroom to seem fresh as well as luxurious, splurge on some gorgeous bedding. The great news is that it will make your home feel

irresistible to buyers, but you get to take your comfy bedding with you when you move. • Step 4: Breathe life into your room with plants and fresh flowers. One thing that sets a so-so room apart from a beautiful one is greenery. Add a mixture of some potted plants and some fresh cut flowers in just a simple vase for a next-level type feeling. • Step 5: Strategically place baskets and decorative storage around your room. The true secret to having a clean, fresh space is no secret at all – you have to keep it clean. This step is made much easier if you give yourself plenty of places to store all the things you use on a daily basis. It ’s an out of sight, out of mind kind of thing!

THIS WALLPAPER TREND IS MAKING WAVES

If you know about Japanese art, you’ve surely heard of Hokusai’s Great Wave off Kanagawa. Created in 1830, this gorgeous piece of art is still making waves today – most recently as a wallpaper print. From nurseries to kitchen backsplashes, wallpaper with swirling blue lines is showing up everywhere. While some of the prints are only a slight nod to Hokusai’s piece, others are near perfect matches. If you love the Great Wave so much that nothing but the real thing will do, you can even purchase

a wallpaper mural to create a stunning feature wall in your home. Whichever wave-inspired wallpaper you choose, pair it with simple furniture and decor in order to give it space to shine. This style of wallpaper would work best in coastal styled homes or in spaces that need a bit of a whimsical touch, such as children’s rooms or even bathrooms.
